Dear Parents,
At Podar Jumbo Kids Early Childhood Centre we believe in brain-based growth environment and implement the principles of brain research. The first six years are the time when the brain is developing its connections and hence it is important that the child gets stimulating and enriching activities.
Activities that help a child to think, experience, relate and have fun. We work with parents as their 'partners in parenting' and so our advice to parents is - be involved and give your child the independence to explore his new world of fun, creativity, growth and first friends. About Podar Jumbo Kids
Jumbo Kids is part of the Podar Education Group , which is a dynamic, constantly evolving nucleus, imparting education at various levels, and was established in 1927, that is more than 80 yrs in the education field.
The first president of the Podar Group was Mahatma Gandhi and we are proud to follow his educational philosophy in nurturing children.
Mahatma Gandhi said that,’ Real education consists in drawing out the best out of yourself’, and that is what we aim to do at Podar Jumbo Kids. We don’t test or rank children or make them aware of their faults and weakness, instead we help them identify their potential and create happy learners by implementing the Head, Heart and Hand philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi.
When children experience this kind of an environment then it is definitely not a school it is a nurturing play house- Podar Jumbo Kids.
At Jumbo Kids we use the best from Tagore (drama and nature), Montessori (learn independently, Vygotsky (let the child use mind tools like questioning, logic), Glenn Doman (sight reading that will enhance spelling and writing skills). When children are taught like this then reading, writing and number work happen naturally and do not have to be forced on the child leading to life long stress.
Anything that is stressful for children is not part of Jumbo Kids, the way we interact with them, the way we help them communicate, the way we let them explore are all based on scientific brain research and lead to the development of life long learners.
This kind of education at PJK that is patterned on the individual needs of each child has been termed ‘KIDUCATION’—an education which is flexible and which has tailored for each child.

Class Rooms
Unique pictures are displayed on the activity room walls. These not only expose the child to everyday objects and animals, they also help in building vocabulary, speech, inculcating the foundation for literacy, numeracy, life skills and a lot more. The walls are not just decorative pieces but they are used to help children interact and engage.
Furniture
Furniture is minimalist. It does not clutter the place. There are no sharp edges. They are colorful and relative to the height of a child. Even the cabinets are easily accessible by children. Children are given the freedom to be independent and self sufficient.
Kids Junction
At preschool age, children tend to be bundles of energy with lots to say and lots more to discover. The school has a collection of preschool-oriented educational toys like puppets, hide-away tents, and costume articles for dress-up, easels, art supplies, as well as books that invite imagery or rhythmic speaking. The kid’s junctions have hi-tech toys in the ratio of 1:1.
Teaching Aids
Teaching aids like puppets and flash cards help the children learn faster. The nursery rhyme sessions, crayon coloring, playing with blocks, picnics, and dramas, celebration of festivals, yoga, aerobics, dance and wonder rooms also help the children learn easily through games.
Child-Friendly Toilets and Wash Basins
Hygiene is an important element of early childhood and children learn their lifelong habits in the early years. Child sized toilets and wash basins ensure that children are not only comfortable but are empowered to use them on their own to aid the growing need for independence.
Toys and Other Equipment
Unique toys are brought from all over the world – selected for their ability to contribute to a child's exploration and fun. They are specifically used as part of their everyday activity. Safety is given the prime importance. They are always child-friendly; children are guided to handle toys on their own—to take and return them and thus be responsible for them.
Splash Pools
Splash pools have also been provided for the children. Special care of the child is taken when are out there in the pool.
Activity Rooms
To make teaching more activity oriented, a specially designed and fully equipped Air conditioned Activity Rooms has been restricted as a Common area where Music, Drama and Dance can be rehearsed prior to performing it on stage.

Sand Pit
The school has a big Sand Pit for the junior which has been developed to enhance the child’s motor skills. The children enjoy making mountains and many different shapes out of clay and sand.
Swings & Slides
Children enjoy themselves on the various swings, and slides installed in the play area specially earmarked for the purpose.
Drawing & Painting
Colors and drawing give the child a free and fair expression to the minds of the children. This makes them feel proud and happy while drawing and painting during the Drawing / Painting classes, which forms a part of the curriculum.
Music Room
There is a music room in the school which helps in developing the musical intelligence of the children. The children are taught the history and notes of music and are also taught to play various instruments depending on their abilities.
Dance Room
There is a dance room in the school which helps in developing the dancing skills of the students. Children are trained in different forms of dances that include different classical and western dance styles.
Auditorium
The sound-proof auditorium is designed for celebrating functions and dramas. The versatile Amphitheatre on the campus makes for an excellent setting for the performance and viewing of plays, orchestra, choir, presentations, and assembly throughout the year.
Games
To make the curriculum more interesting and effective, children are given ample chance to play and enjoy themselves during the day. Apart from outdoor sports, the students are provided with indoor games as well. The indoor play areas are designed with soft flooring to enable the children to crawl about comfortably without the fear of hurting themselves.
Transport
The school offers transport facilities for the students. The school owns buses that fulfill the transport facilities for the students.
